This exhibit traces 125 years of culinary history in Toronto from the publication of early cookbooks, the development of household appliances, the rise of manufactured and convenience foods, grocery shops, dining out, victory gardens and rationing during the war years and the growing sophistication of an urban palate.

From Swedish meatballs to Norwegian Lox to Danish and Finish sweets, you will learn the secrets of Scandinavian cooking. Recipes and information sheets will be provided along with additional course materials, and don't forget to bring your beverage of choice to compliment the culinary experience.

We will be selecting wines from the 1995 through 1998 vintages to showcase a diversity of styles and regions from California. One of the features will be the 1995 vintage of the Napa Valley Cab from fabled Silver Oak Vineyards, rated 95 by Robert Parker. Light hors d'oeuvres wil be served to accompany the wines.

This interactive evening will have you tasting 8 different wines and learning about the different wine producing regions of this very celebrated wine producing nation. Over the course of the evening, you will learn about the unique wine making styles and grape varieties that makes it one of the world's most important wine producing nations. You will also learn about how to match food to the types of wines coming from there. A small sampling of dainty morsels will be provided to assist in the learning of matching food with wine.
